More Shoulderstraps!

They just keep rolling out!  I'm starting to use the 3D printed tap-offs for them though and that's speeding things up a fair bit.

Testimonial

This came in last night concerning one of the shoulder straps I'd sent out recently.  It's always great to hear from a client after they've received their order.  It's just extra great when they have something like this to say:

Just got the strap today - something I will cherish for many years I'm sure! Great work, you are very talented ... Now I just need to find some more bags for you to make straps for!

Fringe Range Card Holster

I've been getting a few more orders for the Range Card Holsters from motorcycle instructors in the states.  This fellow wanted a nice fringe around his, plus some proper biker studs.  Stitching the fringe into place wasn't the simplest stitching I've ever done but I think it came out pretty nice!

3D printed tap-offs

These are still very much a work in process but with each round I've been refining the design and getting closer and closer to a standardized set-up I can use to crank out tap-offs of any size.

At its essence it still comes down to having a raised design on a slab that gets whacked with a mallet.  The design gets transferred straight to the leather so I can get right to cutting and carving without tracing things half a dozen times.

Most of the work left to do involves the centering and sizing but once the design's been cut with a swivel knife it's nice and clean.

Klingon Belt Pouch Action Shot

I just got back an action shot of one of the Klingon Belt Pouches with the client's full Klingon costume.  Looking pretty good!

Text Sampler

I've been carving a lot of text lately and especially now that I can print off tap-offs for the letters it seemed about time to codify the fonts I tend to use.  There's only been a handful so it's pretty easy to compile them into a sampler of sorts.  Now I can offer this to clients as a quick and simple way to pick how they want their letters to look.

Motorcycle Toolbox

This was a commission for my brother-in-law who wanted a smallish box to fit across the front of his handlebars.  I figured it was going to have to stand up to weather and whatever beating might come going down a highway so the thing's built like a brick.  It's all latigo, waxed thread, and lots of kote.  The lining is cordura ballastic fabric, one of the precursors to kevlar, so I'm fairly confident the innards are equally durable.  Hell of a project but I'm pretty content with the result.
